Why I cannot format my FLASH card using Windows format utilities? | |

Synopsis: | The message "Disk is write-protected" appears at attempt to format a FLASH card using Windows Explorer or FORMAT.EXE utility. |
Reason: | Windows by itself does not support formatting of FLASH cards. |
Solution: | To format such a card you will need to use the utility named 'CardWare Memory Cards Viewer' from CardWare Client for Windows 2000/XP package. To activate the viewer, please click on its icon in the system taskbar near clock. Then, insert your card into the socket, right-click onto appeared drive letter and choose 'Format | Format FTL' menu item. After the format will be completed, your card will be available as removable disk for read and write files. |
